This is truly the year of weddings! So many of my friends are getting married and tomorrow these two love birds are the lucky ones. I’m literally bursting with excitement, and I’m afraid to admit it, envy! Getting married was the best thing ever! That tense feeling just before the doors open CANNOT be described! And tomorrow we are even talking about royalties; it’s Harry and Meghan we are talking about for Gods sake! Normally I actually hate royal events, but this time I’m crazy about it. I cannot wait for the day to begin, and of course see the dress!
But have come, I have suddenly become such a royalist? Following are the reasons, why Meghan & Harry’s wedding is absolutely worth seeing:
1. Located in UK
First of all they are getting married in Windsor Castle, UK, outside of London. As the Londophile that I am that alone makes the wedding more amazing (I don’t know if there is a word to describe a London Maniac, so I created this one!
2. The Bride’s backgound
Meghan Markle represents the modern Britain and is a breath of fresh air in a very traditional, almost stoic, British Royal family: She’s an actress/model, an American, is of mixed-race and a divorcee. She’s just a human being with a background like all of us. Said shortly, she embodies the British people so well!
3. Bridal look
Meghan Markle is obviously going to be an unbelievably BEAUTIFUL bride, and I actually think she will be prettier than the other royal brides, that we’ve seen lately; from Mette-Marit (NO), Kate (UK),Victoria (SE) and Mary (DK). They were all pretty, but they were all taking beautiful in a very traditional way. To my taste classic beauty can almost become boring. Meghan ont he other has an originality to her expression that I love, and I think that will make a much more interesting bridal look!
4. The groom’s background
I’m trying not to be corny, but it brings me so much joy, that Harry has found his place and happiness. Everybody knows his background; Lost his mother in an age of 12, probably the most horrible thing thing a child can ever experience. Yet it was expected of him to hold it together while carrying his mothers coffin one week later!
During his youth so many judged him and the media kept giving him a bad reputation. But his army time was live changing for him and was a way for him to find peace with his pain of loosing his mother. Now he has found the woman, he hoped to find; a life companion also with common charity interests.
5. The guestlist
Finally, the groom is a prince while the bride is a former actress. That means that the guest list will be a mixture of royalties and celebrities and both can actually afford to wear what they want to wear. That means no limitations when it comes to the outfits of the day! Just think about the dresses… And most likely the hats… Omg!
